Even though the cause of TS is unknown, there is research points that
support abnormalities in some brain regions, which include the basal ganglia, frontal lobes and cortex. The circuits that interconnect these regions, and the neurotransmitters, like dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine, are responsible for communication among nerve cells. Assumed the often complex presentation of TS, the cause of this disorder is likely to be equally as complex.
