FEAR

FEAR GENERATOR OF THE DRAMATIC SITUATION IN DOSTOYEVSKYS

WORK

PHD THESIS
Argument

The work at hand represents a research project in the issue of the dramatic of F. M.
Dostoyevskys work. The main goal of this thesis targets the shaping of the dramatization
possibilities of Dostoyevskys epic writings and their transposition in the theatric art,
identifying the fear as the dramatic situations main engine encountered in this authors work.
The sentiment of fear is the main emotion of the 21th century. It is the feeling on which
the entire dramaturgy of the past century was based on as well as the entire literature of our
century. Fear feeds the dramatic sense within the society, within the political and religious life
of all ages. It is the triggering pathos for major reactions, socially and individually.
The chapters composing this PhD Thesis are the result of a research period in which
I succeeded identifying the possible means to operate with and analyze few of the dramatic
situations determined by the sense of fear from which, a possible dramaturgic demarche can
begin, having as basis Dostoyevskys work:
