Ambedkar in upliftment of oppressed Class in India
Prof.B.S.Gunjal Professor Department of Studies and Research in Social Work Kuvempu University, Shankargatta, Shimoga Abstract Before Indian independence the environment of Indian society and the caste system dominated the oppressed class. As the caste base Indian society has defined a particular code of conduct to persons belonging to every caste. And the woman in every caste has been occupied a lower status than the man even she belonging to the same caste. The lesser position of oppressed class in the higherarchy grabbed the social freedom of the people of the caste. Though this relation appears to be relative in nature the castes belonging to the lower strata are left with the freedom that certain animals could enjoy. In light of the strange social scheme established in India before independence, Ambedkar has recommended numerous curative actions as well as laws to address the abusive social system and also to conduit the space among various social groups in the country. Therefore the present paper is an effort to investigate the status of oppressed class established before independence and study the role of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar to compact the circumstances through law and justice. He used methodological way with peace factors like law and order, which are vital for social life. It also endeavors to uphold society that will build healthier social order. And he was opposed to the brutal path in social change for it barrier the harmony and creates disorder. He had no trust in anarchy methods. And he used a concept of welfare state, and it cannot be developed on the base of any brutal methods. It is the only hope of oppressed class to overcome form social boundary in contemporary Indian society. Key words: Oppressed Class, Social Change, welfare state
