Re: Cornerstone Academy Trust / Jonathan Paul Bishop
I write in response to your instructions from the Cornerstone Academy Trust and its head
teacher, Mr Jonathan Paul Bishop.
Firstly, we cannot accept any part of your clients claim because we are registered in Delaware
and governed by the Telecommunications Act 1996. This states that any complaints you have
with content on our platform lies with the person for whom it was created. In this case that is
Mr Jonathan Edward Bishop, who is known through the fields of online communities and elearning as Jonathan Bishop. His details are:

We have some role in managing the use of Mr Jonathan Edward Bishops trademarks in the
United States, including US trademark 86090143 for the name Jonathan Bishop, but we
cannot in any way accept that your clients head teachers own name is Jonathan Bishop.
His own name is Jonathan Paul Bishop. We also draw your attention to an email from Mr
Jonathan Paul Bishop, dated 10 January 2013 in which he agrees not to use the trade name
Jonathan Bishop in areas connected with the marketing of any products or services nor in the
publishing of research. He has gone back on this agreement, especially with respect to those
videos that you claim have been wrongly subject to take down notices. This is thus a dishonest
practice meaning any rights he might have had to use Jonathan Bishop under section 11(2)
of the Trade Mark Act 1994 do not apply.
Your claim is therefore rejected in full and by virtue of the Telecommunications Act 1996 there
is no need for us to elaborate on this further and with respect to the Defamation Act 2013,
even if this applied to us, we have met our obligations with respect to section 5 of it.
