My poster is based on the concept of a drowning typeface. The original type face was thrown into the thames by its creator. I used the o's as air bubbles.

Doves was created by Thomas James Cobden Sanderson and
Emery Walker. In 1900 the Doves press was established. The orgininal doves font was engraved by Edward Prince. It was created to attack the problems of typography. The typeface would not distract the reader from the ideas within the text itself. It was mostly used in press publications including the iconic edition of the King James Bible. There was a fued between the partners which ended tragically by 1906. In 1917 the Doves press had been officially closed. Thomes James Coden did not want to share the type with anyone else, so he threw the the metal type into the thame. It took him between August 1916 through January 1917 to completely disgardall the metal prints, book binder, and printer. In 2013 Robert Green reproduces the type face digitally.
