Excursion Trip to Macleodganj

Students of MBA,B.Com, BBA along with two faculty members went on an excursion trip to
Macleodganj for three days from 14th October to 16th October, 2016.McLeod Ganj (also spelt
McLeodGanj or Mcleodganj) is a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh,
India. It is known as "Little Lhasa" or "Dhasa" (a short form of Dharamshala used mainly by
Tibetans) because of its large population of Tibetans. The Tibetan government-in-exile is
headquartered in McLeod Ganj.It has an average elevation of 2,082 metres (6,831 feet). It is
situated on the Dhauladhar Range, whose highest peak, "Hanuman Ka Tibba", at about 5,639 metres
(18,500 feet), lies just behind it. It has charming colonial architecture, including some beautiful
Waterfall, Dalai Lama Temple and Bhagsu Nath temple and metro market .On the first day, the
students visited Bhagsunath temple. Bhagsunath is Shiva Temple situated about 3kms from
Mcleodganj. The temple has been highly revered by the Hindus and the Gorkha Community. The
sacred shrine is famed for its two pools that are believed to have healing properties.
Second day was filled with adventure and excitement as the group visited Bhagsu waterfall and
Dalai Lama Temple.A trek to Himalayan waterfall near Dharamkot was finalised. It began with a
bright sunny morning.Later, the weather got pleasant. The trail was appealing and adventurous and
after walking for almost tone hour or so, we finally reached our destination.The place was simply
amazing, blessed with the utmost beauty. The sound of running water proved itself to be the best
music to soothe one's mind. After that students visited Dalai Lama Temple.Tibetans often say the
Dalai Lama is the physical manifestation of Chenrezig, the enlightened being of compassion; many
believe him to be the living incarnation of Buddha. It's a place where tranquillity mixes with chaos,
grit blends with beauty.After that students did shopping in metromarket of Macleodganj and
returned back to the hotel.
On third and final day i.e. 16-10-16, tutees had enough time to wandering in the local market near
Bhagsu Nath Temple. It was really a memorable trip, memories of which will be engraved in the
hearts of students for the years to come.
