FIBA ASIA QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT
The 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament are three international men's basketball
tournaments, each producing a team which will qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics. They will be held on
410 July 2016 in Italy, the Philippines and Serbia. The Philippines, being one of the host countries for the
said tournament opens an opportunity to the Filipinos. Increasing the demand of the goods and services of
the tourists who will come and witness this historic event in the world of sports.
The local businessmen must answer the demand of the goods and services that the tourists need
during the event. Anticipating the increase of tourist who will join the event is an emblem of an upright effect
to our economy. People around the globe may come to witness and join the tournament, and this will open
an opportunity to introduce our products to the world. Not just the products that we proudly produced but
also the hospitality as to the services that we may render to them. Making their stay here in our country as
a memorable one that will create a mark of coming back.
Creativity as to the products, hospitality as to the services. For an instance, this event will open the
door to the local Filipino T-shirt designer to introduce their very own designs; original Filipino delicacies that
will be served to all the tourists; even the local talents for entertainment that we can offer; and preparation
of our world class arena that will be used during the tournament.
Filipino entrepreneurs must be prepared to supply the said demand of the goods and services.
Identifying and preparing for the goods and services to be offered is a must to the local entrepreneurs for
them to make those products available to the market during the event. The Philippine economy is
challenged with regards to answering the demand of the said tournament. The said activity involves the
land/area to be used in the tournament; the labor on producing the different products that our local
businessman can offer to the tourist; the capital and the entrepreneurial skills that is needed in production
of the said goods and services.
Our government will be backing-up the said event for this opens an opportunity to boost and
promote the tourism industry of our country. This will introduce our country to the world that we have a
competitive industry and economy.
