CDMs elCAT-0 is a multi-purpose heavy duty

catamaran workboat, powered by renewable
energy (wind and solar) or by classic propulsion
(diesel).
The vessel can be used for a wide range of
marine operations in sheltered and shallow
waters, including (but not limited to) oil
skimming, debris removal, pushing/pulling,
buoy handling, dredging support work, ferrying
goods and personnel, fuel oil and water supply.
If powered by renewable energy, it is extremely
adapted for duty in sensitive eco-systems.
Propulsion is by two main motors (as diesel: two
engines), each driving a fixed-pitch propeller
through in-line shafting arrangement. The twin
propulsion system ensures operational safety
and
manoeuvrability.
The hull and wheelhouse consist of a welded
steel construction. The hull is divided as
appropriate for the function and propulsion in
several watertight compartments. An integrated
steel bulwark around the deck effectively
protects
crew
and
deck
equipment.
Level of outfitting and equipment depends on
client's preferences and mandatory rules and
regulations, appropriate for area of operation.

Total Range with renewables (range extension): approx. 95 nm @ draft of 1.3 m and speed

Charging time with 4 x 3.5 kW wind turbines only (average wind speed for Singapore), from
empty to full, for 24 batteries: approx. 24 hours.
