Wienerberger
Brick Award
Launched in 2004, Wienerberger
Brick Award rewards every two years
international-class
innovative
and
creative buildings made with ceramic
materials and also the architects
behind these buildings.
Remarkable buildings all around the
world, constructed using ceramic
products, are subjected to the jury's
consideration by critics and journalists
specialized in architecture. The field
work of these architecture scouts is
helping the Wienerberger team to
identify those buildings which trigger,
by prestige and audacity, a long-lasting
impression. Both classical brick faade
construction solutions and creative
ceramic tiles and pavements are
considered. A very special attention is
given to the way the building integrates
within the environment as well as to
the building's geometry, personality,
quality or lighting.

Porotherm lintels are linear elements of precast and prestressed concrete in a ceramic shell, that were designed by
taking into consideration three essential characteristics of your
construction project: efficiency, versatility and compatibility to
other constructive systems.
During the production process, within the ceramic shell of
the Porotherm lintel, steel wires and high class concrete
are introduced, thus obtaining the pre-stressing and the
standardization of the elements for each product. Porotherm
lintels are conformed for different loads, taking into
consideration the span of the opening, so that they can be
used in a wide variety of situations.

Energy
For your long-term enjoyment and wellbeing inside your home, Wienerberger
invested value so your house will be
energy-efficient during its entire life.
Ecology
The bricks are the basic element of
any building. Their source is the natural
environment, being made out of clay. If
you decide to demolish a construction,
the bricks could return into the nature
without pollution or could be re-used
for other buildings. At the same time,
the closed circuit used in Wienerberger
brick factories does not allow the
elimination of polluting substances
into the atmosphere. Bricks are
manufactured out of the 4 basic natural
elements: earth, water, air and fire.

(Energy,

was publicly presented at the 2012
edition of Brick Award, was finalized in
Austria at the end of last year. The e4
Program is Wienerberger's response
to the challenges posed by the
construction of the future house.
Due to the materials used, such
house has minimum energy losses,
close to zero.
This concept combines four key
elements: execution of energyefficient brick masonry, affordable
construction prices and a decrease in
Emotion
You spend 90% of your time indoors,
and a significant part of it in your
home. A house built with bricks
provides a pleasant, comfortable
and healthy environment to you and
your family. For high seismic activity
areas, Wienerberger created, by
means of research and state-of-the-art
technology, special products that offer
earthquake-resistant masonries.
