INTERVIEW

REPORTER:

Mr. Marco Antonio Etcheverry, Could you give us

a little of your time please?


ETCHEVERRY: Yes, of course.
REPORTER:

Ok thank you. Well good afternoon ladies and

gentlemen, we are with the best soccer player of the


Bolivian history, The Mr. Marco Antonio Etcheverry.
We have to do same question about your sport
career.
ETCHEVERRY: Sure I am ready.
REPORTER:

Where and what year were you born?

ETCHEVERRY: I was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on September 26,


1970. Actually, I have 46 years old.
REPORTER:

Where have you learned to play football?

ETCHEVERRY: I learned to play football in Tahuichi aguilera academy. I


have started to promote myself then appear in several clubs in the
Bolivian professional league.
REPORTER:

How old was you when have you debuted in the

Bolivian soccer?
ETCHEVERRY: I started playing soccer when I was 16 years old. In
Destroyers club in Bolivia
REPORTER:

How many football teams have you participated

in your sport career?


ETCHEVERRY: I participated in a lot of football teams. in Bolivar and
after a year in Albacete, where I stayed only one season. The following
spent in the Colo-Colo, chili, then a Colombian America of Cali. In 1996
I landed in Washington DC United in Barcelona and Emelec, both of
Ecuador.

REPORTER:

How many times have you participated in the

national team and how many goals have you done?


ETCHEVERRY: I participated in the national team in 71 games and I
have done 13 goals.
REPORTER:

What has it been the most difficult goal that

have you marked throughout your career?


ETCHEVERRY: The most difficult goal that I have marked in my career
it was the first goal of historic 2-0 victory over Brazil in the city of La
Paz in 1993

What was the most difficult goal that have you

ever marked throughout your career?


ETCHEVERRY:

Can you tell me if you have ever been seriously

injured?
ETCHEVERRY: Yes, when I was playing for Colo Colo of Chile,
Unfortunately a player fell with all his weight on my left leg. The pain
was enormous, as my leg is fully folded and there was a torn cruciate
ligaments.
REPORTER:

How often have you been recognized in all your

sport career?
ETCHEVERRY: I have been recognized several times. For example, I
becomes idol in Colo Colo of Chile, Barcelona of Guayaquil, Emelec
and America of Cali, and I was one of the images for the revival of the
professional soccer league in the United States (MLS).
REPORTER:

Have you ever been coach soccer teams?

ETCHEVERRY: Yes, I have. I was coached Aucas in Ecuador. Now, I'm


preparing in courses about the International Federation of Association
Football (FIFA) because in 2017 I want to devote entirely to direct in

football. I want to return to activity, either forming new talents or


managing.

And finally for end the interview We have the

last question, Why have you been dubbed as "El


Diablo Etcheverry"?
ETCHEVERRY: The nickname was given journalists who enjoyed the
"pranks" I realized on the court playing football.
REPORTER:

Very good Mr. Etcheverry, we have to thank you

for your time and I want to congratulate you by your


excellent sport career.
ETCHEVERRY: Thank you very much for the interview. We are a country
that needs wins, we feed our self-esteem, our illusion. I hope that
Bolivia progress in all.
