PNU Sports Fest 2016 highlights Palarong Pinoy

MANILA The entire PNU community held its annual sports fest on August 31 as
part of the celebration of the 115th Founding Anniversary of the University. Games,
all composed of palarong pinoy like egg catcher, modified sack race, scrabble,
threading the needle and others were carefully lined up to provide opportunities for
faculty members and staff to showcase their athletic abilities.
The celebration was commenced by the parade of teams followed by the Opening
Program held at the University Quadrangle. The Vice President for Academics, Dr.
Maria Antoinette C. Montealegre gave the opening remarks, while Dr. Ester B.
Ogena, the University President, gave an inspirational message. The latter also led
the ceremonial Lightning of Torch followed by the oath of sportsmanship.
Given the points obtained by each team for each of the games, the Green team was
proclaimed Champion while Orange, Blue and Yellow teams were the first, second
and third runners-up respectively.
