Introduction and Objectives of Project:

The main objective of this assignment is to improve Automotive Web

services that are compatible for mobile and desktops, to improve
customer satisfaction. In order to achieve this, we need to consider
lot of factors. We will perform the detailed analysis of all the factors
using CORA spreadsheet and Ranky-Taguchi calculator.
Description of Methodologies Applied:
CORA is a Team Oriented Problem Solving (TOPS) method aimed at
minimizing dissatisfaction, financial loss due to inadequate requirements
specification and poor communication between customers and providers.
Along with CORA, we will use Ranky-Taguchi calculator in order to find
optimum conditions for our products. There are four different modules in
CORA. They are:
1. User Requirements
2. Engineering Solutions
3. Parameter Calculations
4. Bench-marking
The Main Body of the Project:

Customer requirements based on images form 3DeBook

Image 1122 and Image 1123

The first picture shows propeller of the boat and second picture shows
joints that are being rusted by salt water, rain, humidity or high temperature.
The manufacturer should have selected material with different protection
coatings that can last longer in salt water, climatic changes and in deed it
saves the maintenance cost of customers.
Images 1145, 1148, 1150, 1151
The four pictures clearly show the boat parts (paints, wood and nails) that are
ruined. The quality of wood and paint could not able to sustain the climatic
conditions which indeed lead to severe damage of boat. I suggest that proper
coating might have saved the rust and decay of material. The color of boat
also needs some tweaks in order to deliver an eye attraction. As multicolored
strokes seem to be like the work of an amateur, multi coating of paint and oil
might prevent it from being rusted and also makes the material durable for
the further use. These pictures imply that boat had hit some hard surface
because the materials of boat have damaged to that extent.
Images 1157, 1158, 1159
The three images give a view of a dock where ships are being anchored. The
image shows that there is a common pathway for two boats which seemed
not to be a good idea. The location of docks seems to be spacious enough.
The boats are anchored in luxurious manner. There is a name
(DEVIATIONS) printed on the front side of the boat. I think that`s how the
lanes of docks have been allocated to them individually. As I could not able
to locate any cameras in these pictures I feel that there might be a security
concern. The pillars on which dock is residing needs some renovation
because it also seems to be rusty.
Images 1171, 1172 and 1174
Image 1171 show the engine parts of boat and the images 1172 and 1174
shows the fuel tank of boat that are not in good condition. They might haven
been rusted due to salt water, rain, humidity, high temperature or weather
changes. These cases indicate that the manufacturer neither selected the right
material nor protected them with a coating material that prevents from
corrosion. By using the perfect material and coating material then the

durability of parts will be increased and customers need not bear maintenance
costs.
CORA:
The factors that affect the company`s growth are chosen in the
spreadsheet. These factors are considered based on detailed analysis which
includes solutions to customer`s requirements. It also gives an idea to
Automotive Web Services about how to make a successful strategic plan. As
our company is new, it is necessary to consider all these factors.
The priorities of the functional activities are ranked with Absolute
Importance Rating (AIR) in order to give priority to user requirements.
Correlation values 1 (Low), 3 (Medium) and 9 (High) are used by the team to
prioritize the requirements. This function should be done in a team to allow
better understanding and correct level of customer satisfaction is required.
The requirements are ranked based on their importance from 1 to 5 (5-most
important).
