Beforethathappened,thecitywasrstdestroyed
bytheeruptionofMountVesuviusmore.The
buildingswerepulverized.Manypeopledied
fromthattragedy.Thatincidentkilledmany
peoplethere,includingadults,teens,andbabies.
Beforetheearthquake,signsofvolcaniceruption
wasseen.Atrst,therewerehugeblackclouds
risingonthetopofthemountain,that
wasfollowedbysmokethatspreadaroundthe

Thesmokesintheskywerethickanditcanbeseenthatthesmokeswouldspreadtootherplaces.The
rescuingteamandscientistshelpedthesurvivorsandstudiedwhathappened.Theconditionofthe
placerightnowisdamagedandempty.Thesurvivorsthatlosttheirhouseshaveevacuatedtoanother
area.Itwassaidthatanearthquakeoccurredbeforetheeruption.
Ifeltthegroundshakingandheardloudsoundsfromthedirectionofthemountain.SaidKeisha,one
ofthesurvivors,basedonwhatcanbeseenitcouldbethoug
htnoonesurvived,but1000peoplesurvived.AccordingtoTasyamemberoftherescuingteam.
Scientistfoundoutthattheeruptionwascausedbythemovementoftectonicplatesunderearths
surface.Thesurvivorsaretendedbydoctorsandgivenaplacetostay.Theareathatsueredfromthe
eruptioniscleared2daysafterthedisaster.

frightenedandinpanic.Theseawassuckedawayandseaanimalswereleftonland.Flamescameoutof
thecraterasblackcloudsappeared.
Twoofthesurvivors,KatlainaandJco,faintedduringthe
catastrophe.Duringtheinterviewaftertheeruption,Katlaina
said,IwilllivewithJcoinmyhouseinAmerica.Some
peoplestayedintheirhomeswiththeirfamilies,whilesome
peoplemovedtoanotherplace.Treesweredestroyedand
nothingwasleftbehind.Alotofresidentswereinjured,too.
Soon,thedarknessthinnedandthelightappeared.The
surroundingsofMountVesuviuswascompletelydestroyed.

Therescuing
teamishelpingandcuringresidentswhowereinjured.Andtheconstructionteamwillhelptobuild
homesthatweredestroyedfortheresidentswhowanttostay.Theywillalsohelptogrowbacktrees.

buildingsfell.Alotwerentabletoescapebecauseoftheoorleveltheywerein.Theearthquake
happenedtoofast.
Beforetheearthquake,therewasavolcaniceruption.Thesmokespreadeventothemountainsfoot.
Villagerscouldbarelyrunaway.Theycouldntseeanything.Thesmokeonthetoppartwassothick,
whichcouldevenbeseenin5metersfromafar.Aroundthemountainsbody,thesmokewaslessened,
yetitwasstillthick.Here,itcouldbeseenaround100200metersafar,whileontheboompartofthe
mountaincouldbeseen300400metersafar.

Untilnow,thesmokestillremains,nutitgetsthinnerasdayspass.Thesurvivorsoftheeruptionare
lookingforatemporarysheltertolive.Somewheresafe,saidTasya,oneofthesurvivors,whileJessica,
