Practical Proposal

My first choice for my practicum would be to shadow a civil engineer. I want to do this
because my goal is to major and become a civil engineer. I would like to know what my future
might hold and get a better idea of option that is in this field of work. As this is my goal for my
future I believe that making connections with business and professors in this field early on is the
best way to find internships and be a part of research. Currently, I do not know any civil
engineers or professors of civil engineering that I would be able to shadow. The times I would
shadow would be based on our schedules.
My second choice and best option currently are to do my practicum on the second floor
of Atkins library between the front door and the stairs under the skylight. The main times I am in
the library are from 9:30 to 12:15 AM, 2:30 to 4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During one of
these times and days, I will a lot 30 minutes up to an hour to do my observation. I would like to
do Atkins because of how accessible it is to me and for the diversity of people passing through
the library.
My third option for my practicum would be the third-floor lounge in Oak Hall. It would
be an excellent way of meeting people from my hall. Unless I find someone to shadow Atkins
will be my choice to do my practicum on. Thank you for looking at and considering my proposal.
