Places which are regarded as the most important and interesting
monuments of the countrys history
The United Kingdom is full of history and a great place to see some incredible historic monuments. Cleopatras Needle, which stands on the banks of the river Thames, is one of Londons oldest structures nearly 3500 years old. It is known as Cleopatra's Needle as it was brought to London from Alexandria, the royal city of Cleopatra to commemorate the British victory over Napoleon, sixty-three years earlier. Stonehenge is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world .It is a collection of enormous prehistoric stones arranged in a semi-circle on the side of a hill in southwest England. A lot of assumptions are related to it, as its main purpose is unknown. Namely the mystery behind it makes Stonehenge so special. There are a lot of wondrous monuments to see in the UK and I would like very much to learn about British history from them.
