Solution Description
This service provides the design and implementation of RecoverPoint
concurrent local and remote (CLR) replication, providing synchronous and
asynchronous replication between local and remote sites. Technologent
analyzes the environment to determine bandwidth requirements,
configuration of consistency groups, replication types, sizing of repository
and journal volumes to design, propose, and implement a RecoverPoint
architecture based on Customer requirements.
Technologent installs RecoverPoint appliances (RPAs) into the local and
remote data center infrastructures, and using host-based, fabric-based,
and array-based splitter drivers, creates replicas of databases and file
systems on supported systems between them. Ciscos SANTap/MSM or
Brocade FAP/FR is supported as fabric-based splitters and EMC CLARiiON
CX3 and CX4 Splitters are supported as an array-based splitter.
Technologent configures the necessary hardware on existing qualified EMC
Connectrix brand switches.
The included scope of this service is listed below, while specific
installation and configuration tasks are outlined in the Tasks &
Deliverables section of this document.

Meet with the Customer staff to ensure that the environment and operational
implementation requirements (hardware, software, and infrastructure) are
met, and provide the Customer with a list of required or beneficial updates.
Plan and design the RecoverPoint solution, which includes one or more of the
following components:
} CLR [CDP (Continuous Data Protection), CRR (Continuous Remote
Replication)]
} CLARiiON CX3 and CX4 Splitter (Array-based splitter driver)
} Cisco SANTap or Brocade FAP (Fabric-based splitter driver)
} RecoverPoint KDriver Splitter (Host-based splitter driver)
Implement and configure RecoverPoint based upon the agreed upon design
Install RecoverPoint appliances (RPAs) in local and remote sites
Install the RecoverPoint client software
Perform required SAN configuration to support replication, which may
include:
} Configuring host-based splitter driver solution on existing dual singleswitch fabrics.
} Configuring fabric-based splitter driver solution on existing dual
single-switch fabrics.
} Configuring array-based splitter driver solution on existing CLARiiON
CX3 and CX4 arrays.
} Performing all necessary zoning changes.
} Creating all necessary volumes on up to four (4) storage arrays (two
per site).
} Assigning LUNs to one or more RPAs and servers.
Perform required configurations on the RecoverPoint clustered appliances.
Configure RecoverPoint replications, including consistency groups and
replication jobs:
} Up to 5 TB of data
} Up to 10 consistency groups
} Up to 40 LUNs
Validate the implementation using the Test and Acceptance Plan

Customer Responsibilities
The Customer will:
Designate a representative who will be the focal point for all communication
throughout this service delivery.
Participate in the planning/discovery meeting with Technologent to agree on
desired hardware / software configuration. All work must be agreed on in
advance by both parties.
Provide necessary infrastructure information (TCP/IP addresses, node names
and network configuration).
Have necessary cabling in place, including fiber and network, prior to start of
service delivery.
Provide access to the system during standard business hours (8:30 AM to 5:30
PM Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, unless otherwise agreed upon in
advance).
