Neural Network: Taxonomy

Neural network is a subfield of machine learning, which in turn is a subfield
of artificial intelligence (AI).
Artificial intelligence an academic field of study that deals with machines
or software that exhibit human-like intelligence.
Machine learning, according to Author Samuels old informal definition, is
the field of study that gives computers the ability to learn without being
explicitly programmed. Tom Mitchell gave a modern definition: A
computer program is said to learn from experience E with respect to some
class of tasks T and performance measure P, if its performance at tasks T,
as measured by P, improves with experience E.
For example in playing the game of checkers,
E the experience of playing many games of checkers
T the task of playing checkers
P the probability that the program will win the next game.
