    BRIEF BACKGROUND

    Fruit grading involves three steps which are inspection, assessment, and lastly sorting. It is
    important to do fruit grading as it can ensure that the fruit that being sell is at high quality and
    fresh. In many years back, fruit grading was done manually by human, but today machine is
    used to grade fruits which involve sorting according to size, shape, and quality. There are many
    types of fruit sorting machine in the market and new technology such as Optical Measuring
    System (OMS) with high resolution camera and computer is being used inside this machine.
    Usually in small fruit industry, fruit sorting machine with mechanical components without OMS
    is used because it is cheaper and less maintenance. Normally the basic components of fruit
    sorting machine are motor, chain, conveyer belt, v-belt, shaft, bearing, sprocket, main frame,
    and collecting compartment
