The Comunidad Valenciana is the center of the important Spanish footwear

industry, although it is also present in areas such us Castilla La Mancha and La
Rioja. During 2011, the volume of exports went up 12,4% in pairs and 10,6% in
value. Over the last three years the Spanish industry has been able to diversify
its exports to new markets. At the same time, imports from China grew 62%.
Italy and France are the main export markets for the Spanish brands.
