‘To Whom It May Concern:
Itis with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Margaret
Vaughan. I have had the privilege of knowing Margaret for the past fifteen months, Throughout
this time have been employed as a School Psychologist for the Merced Union High School
District, During the short period of time that [have known Margaret, she has been a tremendous
asset to our school through the many hours she has volunteered as an academic mentor. I can
unequivocally assure you that Margaret is well-respected by her teachers and peers that she both
collaborates and works with on a regular basis.
Margaret has easily managed the many challenges that a typical high school student encounters
with confidence and ease, Her self-assuredness will help see her through many of life’s
challenges to come. Her positive attitude and willingness to persevere have helped her to
overcome and meet these challenges in a manner that is nothing short of inspirational to those
around her.
Margaret has successfully acquired essential leadership skills through the time she has spent
mentoring, actively participating in Band, and the Orchestra at El Capitan High School. For
instance, Margaret has demonstrated the ability to effectively lead others as a section leader in
her sophomore through senior year. Additionally, she has also held the office of Vice President
of our band council throughout her senior year. Her fellow officers and band teacher both
admire and respect the work that she has done as VP. Margaret also participated on the Track
and Field team at ECHS during her sophomore through senior year. What’s even more
impressive, is that she has been able to do all these extracurricular activities while maintaining
good grades, Additionally, she has earned the following awards while attending ECHS: WAC
Scholar Athlete; WAC Third Place Champion; and Academic Achievement Award.
While at school, Margaret always presents herself in a professional manner, and has been a good
role model for our students, Margaret’s positive worldview, coupled with her high level of
energy and intelligence, has provided a strong foundation for her ability to effectively relate to
others coming from diverse backgrounds.
Margaret has indicated that she plans to attend college after high school and study biology and
chemical sciences in order to pursue a career as a forensic toxicologist. The staff at ECHS fully
support her pursuit of personal and professional goals. She has earned our admiration and
respect. If you have need for additional information, please feel free to contact me at (209)
