Summary of Phrase
1. Phrase is a group of word that fills a slot in the clause level.
2. Phrase
Exocentric Phrase : there is not a head and modifier.
Prep. Phrase. Example: in, of, for, from, after, with, etc.
Endocentric Phrase: there is a head and modifier.
Noun phrase that is noun as its head and article, possessive
pronoun, adjective, numeral and demonstrative.

Verb Phrase is verb as its head. Example: Can speak, must


study, will come, etc.
Adjective Phrase is adjective as its head. This head is
commonly preceded by an intensifier. Example: very beautiful,
rather easy, so sweet, etc.
Adverb phrase is a adverb as its head. The intensifier slot filled
an intensifier and the head slot filled by an adverb. Example:
very quickly, rather slowly, so late, etc.
