School Photos This term

There will be a Health and Wellbeing Consultation


paper which outlines the areas of learning in this
Curriculum area.
There will be a survey on Progress and Achievement Reports and
Learning Conversations. This includes two additional questions on
your suggestions for improving our school. It is very important that we
keep moving forward with new ideas while still retaining the aspects of
teaching and learning that work well.
This year we have introduced sports start across the school, school
wide Kapa Haka, a new way of showing your childs progress with
learning using the Seesaw App. In 2017 all family/whanau will have
access to this App.
Currently we have Year 1 and 2 families as part of this programme.
This term Year 3 and 4 will be using it.
Please remember our fortnightly Whanau Meetings on Thursday
morning at 9am. There is one this week so come along and join in.

School Order Lunches

order lunches are only
available on a Tuesday and
Thursday
now.
Our
wonderful Koha Kitchen will
be serving lunches on a
Monday, Wednesday and
Fridays.

Sunhats Sunhats must be worn at break times from the beginning of Term 4 as part of our schools
Sun Smart policy. It is a good idea for children to keep a named sunhat at school to ensure they always
have one to wear.

Kids Kan Nitbuster Free services available at school every Tuesday between 9-2.30pm. If you would
like to have your child checked for head lice please let the office know and they can provide you with a
consent form for your child to be seen. This service is free to your children and family.

Community Fitness and Bike Library Run by Donnell (a parent of our school) Donnell will be taking
walking groups during the week and Family Fitness Fun at Epuni School during the weekends. The Bike
Library will be open at 12 noon on Saturdays, so come down hire a bike and join your children in some
family fitness. Walking groups on the following days: Mon 9:30am, Tues 10:00am, Wed 11:00am, Thurs
12:00pm. Meeting point is outside the school hall. For more details please contact Donnell or Common
Unity.

Saints and Angels Party (a Hallow een alternative), M on 31st Oct at K nox Presbyterian

Church, 574 High Street, 5-7pm Dress up in your favourite costume for an evening packed with
fun!!! There will be a giant slide, bungee run, bouncy castles, football cage, face painting and a variety
of carnival games. Everyone receives free popcorn and candy floss! Sausages and drinks are available
for $1. No scary costumes please. Entry is by way of a gold coin donation and/or can of food (will be
donated o the food bank) For further information please contact Craig on 04-569-9528 .

Mothers On A Mission-For A Kids Lunchbox Revolution, The Dowse Art Museum, 45 Laings Rd, Lower

Rm 6 Te Papa & City Art Gallery Trip


The Yetis recently visited Te Papa and the city art gallery to explore how artists use their
voice to share their opinion with their community and the wider world. It was fascinating
how she mixed up her letters and didn't finish her sentences, but there was a message in
the art". The Yetis are currently creating artwork using words and images
to expresses their 'voice'.

School Donations Term 4

Breakfast Club
Every morning Monday to Friday 8.30-8.55am
breakfast is available for our children in our staff
room. Hot Toast with a variety of spreads and
cereal with fruit are available. Please come along
and share breakfast together or just come along
and join in, in the fun!!!
