Healthy and Nutritious Foods

Good morning everybody, let me introduce ourself my name Carlos Darma Dwikita and my
partner Arel Fernaliz. We are from Food Technology faculty of Soegijapranata Catholic
University. Food is a substance, usually originates from animals or plants, eaten by living things
to provide energy and nutrients. In general foodstuff contains several elements or compounds
such as water, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, enzymes, pigments and others. Every
living creature needs food. Without food, living things would be difficult in doing daily
activities. Food can help people in getting energy, helping the body and brain. Eating nutritious
foods will help the growth of human beings, both brain and body. Ive divided our presentation
into three main parts, there are :

Now Ill discuss our first point in this part of my presentation, I want to discuss about Definition
of healthy and nutrious foods.
1. Definition of healthy and nutritious foods
Healthy food is food that meets health requirements and if eaten can not cause disease and
poisoning. While nutritious food are foods that contain substances that are required by the body
in sufficient quantity. Nutritious food need not be expensive, but the important thing is the
substance-zatt contained therein.
Well Ive told you about my first point, let me turn to my second one, it is about Healthy foods
and mismatched.
2. Healthy foods and mismatched
a. Protein and Fat
The combination of both of these foods become mismatched for not given extra fat. Elements of
the fat contained in the food served to inhibit protein digestion in order to have enough time to
interact with stomach acid. Examples of foods with a combination of proteins and fats are:
1. The meat (chicken, beef, fish) are roasted, baked, boiled or steamed

2. Nuts are roasted, boiled or steamed


b. Starch and Fat
As well as in foods that contain protein and fat, starch and fat will be a combination of matching
food for not given the extra fat in the process. Sweet potatoes or yams for example, do not add
the coconut milk as when we make compote. Use fats in moderation as a flavor enhancer.
Examples of foods with a combination of starch and fat are:
1. bread with a little butter
2. The mashed potatoes with a little cream
3. The rice boiled with a little coconut oil
4. Potatoes fried (protein and fat contained in the potato is very low, making it safe when fried
with unsaturated oils and new, not a used oil is used)

c. Sugar and Acid


This combination found in many fresh fruit and plain yogurt.
Examples of foods with a combination of sugar and acid are:
1. Pure Yogurt + pure honey
2. Yogurt + pure sweet fruit
3. Fruit sour + sweet fruit
4. The sauce is sweet and sour

d. Vegetable Protein and Vegetable Protein


Vegetable fat and protein in tend to be low, so it is safe when combining foods that both contain
vegetable protein. Precisely if we combine both of these types of food, it will support each other
so that the complementary amino acids in both types of food. Examples of foods with a
combination of Vegetable Protein Vegetable Protein are:
1. Brown rice + tempe
2. Rice + red bean cakes

3. Soups miscellaneous contents of grains and legumes


And the last point in this part, I want to tell you about Tips on choosing healthy foods
3. Tips on choosing healthy foods
Towards a healthy life can be done in many ways. One of them through our diet. According to
experts, the key to be healthy is to consume a balanced diet. In short, we can consume a variety
of foods not only contain a lot of calories but rich in nutrients. Here are 3 tips you can follow to
get a healthy meal, but still feels good on the tongue.
a. Food Consumption Nutrition Rich.
40 kinds of nutrients needed to make your body healthy. And one type of food can not be
sufficient intake of all these types. Selection of your daily diet should include carbohydrates and
whole grains products other fruits, vegetables, dairy products and meat, fish or other proteincontaining foods. How much food should you need to eat depends on the calories your body
needs.
b. Consumption Full grains, fruits and vegetables.
Surveys show that most people do not consume enough of these foods. Are you already eat 6-1
servings of rice or cereal, if 3 portion of the kind you eat include whole grains? What you are
eating food that consists of 2-4 servings of fruit and 3-5 servings of vegetables? If you included
that do not enjoy this kind of food before, so from now on give yourself a chance to taste it.

c. Eating Regularly.
Skipping meals will only make hunger control is lost, even the fact be the result of excessive
hunger. When you feel hungry, it also means that you forget about the nutrients in your food.
Eating snacks between meals is the only way that can help you overcome hunger, but do not eat a
snack excessive.

Now, well explain about a graphic of people who consume healthy and nutritious foods from the
result of survey on one thousand people. In 2005, 900 people consumed bread and rice for the
general food. And than in 2006, 800 people consumed fruit and vegetable in the second choose.
Meanwhile, in 2007, 450 people consume meat, fish , egg and beans is low.
Well, this brings us to the end of our presentation. Just to summarize the main points of my talk
are :

In my opinion, we should consumtion the healthy food to safe our healthy from disease. And
