Annotated Bibliography

1. LaFleur, Karl, et al. "Quadcopter control in three-dimensional space using a

noninvasive motor imagery-based braincomputer interface." Journal of neural
engineering 10.4 (2013): 046003.
2. Controlling a quadcopter using a sort of AI or machine learning.
3. Content includes the creation of sensors and programs that control a quadcopter
based on the images it receives.
4. Audience of the work would be engineers interested in machine learning.
5. The information is pretty relevant considering works with drones or quadcopters
is fairly new.

1. Achtelik, Markus, et al. "Visual tracking and control of a quadcopter using a

stereo camera system and inertial sensors." 2009 International Conference on
Mechatronics and Automation. IEEE, 2009.
2. Tracking and following objects based on the images received from the system's
camera.
3. Content is the description and process behind tracking and following an object
that appears in the drones camera.
4. Audience would be engineers and possibly the police force if they wanted to
include drones in their work.
5. Information is very relevant, includes new information and methods for tracking.

1. Bristeau, Pierre-Jean, et al. "The navigation and control technology inside the ar.
drone micro uav." IFAC Proceedings Volumes 44.1 (2011): 1477-1484.
2. How a Microdrone uses built in navigation systems.
3. It explains how the producer of the drone created a high performance navigation
system for their microdrones.
4. The audience for something like this would be other drone companies looking to
compete, developers, and the company themselves looking to see what people think of
their product.
5. Information is very relevant and new considering the drone was only released five
years ago.

1. Krajnk, Tom, et al. "AR-drone as a platform for robotic research and

education." International Conference on Research and Education in Robotics. Springer
Berlin Heidelberg, 2011.
2. The main purpose of the work is to show how drones can be used in research and
education.
3. The content gives examples and data based on using drones in real life
environments to teach students.
4. Audience would be teachers looking to introduce drones into their classroom.
5. Information is new and relevant only being five years old and still holding
methods that are used today.

1. Irizarry, Javier, Masoud Gheisari, and Bruce N. Walker. "Usability assessment of

drone technology as safety inspection tools." Journal of Information Technology in
Construction 17 (2012): 194-212.
2. If Drones can be used as a safety inspection tool.
3. Content includes things like previous safety inspections done, failed inspections,
and how it can be useful.

4. Possible audience is construction workers, inspectors, and anyone who could use
a drone in their projects that require inspections.
5. Information is relevant and has been used in many cases, also released just four
years ago so its fairly new and correct.
