Reminders from the Administration ...

One of the most beautiful seasons of the year is here. The changes of the trees, bushes and
shrubs. The weather is also becoming cooler. As a school we do our best during inclement weather to
keep your children warm and outside of the elements. We ask that you ensure your child or children are
dressed warmly for the changes as well. This allows the school to run smoothly and to ensure everyone
comes and leaves the school in an orderly and safe manner. Please do your best to get your children to
school no later than 7:50 a.m. so that they do not arrive late. school starts at 8:00 a.m. Dismissal is at
3:00 p.m., please make sure to plan accordingly so that your child gets dropped off and picked up on time.
We ask all our visitors who are dropping off or picking up children to please keep the doors clear at least
10-15 feet so that children and staff can come in and depart safely.
Have you noticed the garbage cans around the school, and the new additions to the playground? If you
havent, take a walk around our campus. Thanks to several students, volunteers and teacher leaders we
have been able to touch up Sawyer a little more. Please help the community by throwing out the garbage
in and picking up anything off of the campus. Our custodians work really hard to maintain it clean for us.
Lets do our part.
As you may be aware the teachers have voted in favor of a strike. We dont know all the logistics if this
were to take place. Once we get more information we will also inform you immediately. Lets hope that
all parties involved have an agreement, so that we can continue to work together. Our teachers and students deserve the best.
Fall is great for activities with the family. Take time to enjoy a stroll in the park to see the changes in the
leaves, observe the different shapes of the leaves and how they are unique, count the number of squirrels
running around getting food for their hibernation, identify the different flowers from spring to fall or to
simply read and discuss a book at the library or your warm home.

Una de las estaciones mas bonitas del ao ya est aqu, con los cambios de los rboles, los matorrales y los
arbustos. La temperatura tambin est cada vez ms fresca. Como escuela hacemos todo lo posible durante
el tiempo fresco para que sus hijos no pasen frio o se mojen durante los dian lluviosos. Les pedimos que se
aseguren de que sus hijos estn vestidos apropiadamente para los cambios de temperatura. Esto permite que la
escuela funcione sin problemas y asegurarnos de que todos lleguen y salgan de la escuela de una manera ordenada y segura. Por favor hagan todo lo posible de traer a sus hijos a la escuela no ms tarde de las 7:50 a.m.
para que no lleguen tarde. Las clases comienzan a las 8:00 a.m. y terminan a las 3:00 p.m. Por favor asegrense
de planificar para que sus hijos sean dejados y recogidos de la escuela a tiempo. Adems les pedimos a todos
nuestros visitantes que estn dejando o recogiendo a los nios que por favor, se mantengan alejados de las
puertas, por lo menos de 10 a 15 pies para que los nios y el personal pueda entrar y salir con seguridad.
Han notado los botes de basura alrededor de la escuela y las nuevas adiciones al patio de recreo? Si no lo han
notado, les sugerimos que tomen un paseo alrededor de nuestra escuela. Gracias a varios estudiantes, a voluntarios, y a maestros lderes hemos podido retocar un poco ms la escuela Sawyer. Por favor ayuden a la comunidad tirando la basura en los botes y recogiendo la basura que est tirada en el piso alrededor de la escuela.
Nuestro personal de limpieza trabaja arduamente para mantener la escuela limpia para todos nosotros.
Hagamos nuestra parte.
Como ustedes ya se habrn dado cuenta, los maestros han votado en favor de una huelga. No sabemos todava
la logstica si es que la huelga se llevara a cabo. Una vez que hayamos obtenido ms informacin, les informaremos inmediatamente. Esperemos que todas las partes involucradas lleguen a un acuerdo, para que podamos seguir trabajando juntos. Nuestros maestros y estudiantes merecen lo mejor.
El otoo es la estacin ideal para tener actividades con la familia. Tmense el tiempo para disfrutar de un
paseo en el parque y ver los cambios en las hojas, observen las diferentes formas de las hojas y cmo estas son
nicas. Cuenten el nmero de ardillas correteando y consiguiendo comida para su hibernacin, identifiquen
como se caen las diferentes flores de la primavera, o simplemente lean y discutan acerca de un libro en la biblioteca o en su clido hogar.
Les deseamos que tengan un buen mes de octubre!
