Jeopardy American Revolution


8th Grade US History
Goal: Standard 1: Students will use a variety of intellectual skills to demonstrate their
understanding of major ideas, eras, themes, developments, and turning points in the
history of the United States and New York.
Objectives:
1. Students will discover a new way to study if they are poor note takers.
2. Students will identify the main ideas from lessons based off what questions are
chosen for jeopardy.
3. Students will revise their notes if they recorded the wrong information prior to
jeopardy.
Materials Needed: Powerpoint, Students notes.
Detailed Lesson:
Warm up:

Very briefly go over some things before the game, without giving too much away.

Jeopardy (Entire class period):

Based off the notes students took in class, they came up with questions for

jeopardy.
After a few months of lecturing, students deserve a break while still reviewing
their notes, just having a fun time doing so. Hopefully this helps poor note takers
on their upcoming exam.
