On February 20, 2016, at approx. 2:30 AM, Jackson Police Officers responded to Black
Diamonds Club at 210 Parcel Dr. regarding shots fired. Upon arrival, it was learned that two
victims had been shot. Dennis Evans was wounded and transported to UMMC for medical
treatment. Sylvester Williams sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was later pronounced
deceased upon arrival to UMMC.
During the course of the investigation, it was learned there was an altercation between subjects
inside the location, an unidentified black male subject produced a handgun and began firing
shots. Subsequently, Dennis Evans was shot. The suspect continued to fire shots on the exterior
of the location where Sylvester Williams was shot as he attempted to help others out of the club.
The unidentified suspect fled the scene.
Robbery/Homicide Detectives, based on the investigation, developed Jamichael Jackson, 23 as a
possible suspect in this incident. He was later identified and has been charged with one count of
Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault.
