We chose the song Ituloy mo lang by siakol which is always played in the

radio. This song caught our attention because of the meaning that it conveys. It is
about how a young boy preferred girly things rather than the things that boys
normally like. He was not accepted by his family and was rejected by the children of
his age. When he grew up, he always tries to please everybody and show the world
that he has a worth. But behind all of this, he was not respected because he is gay.
The song then tells the boy that whatever the boy wants as long as he lives a
dignified and righteous life, he should pursue and continue because what matters
most is the fact that he is happy. He must not listen to what other says about him
because they know nothing.
This song reflects what the real view of the society is when it comes to gays.
We usually look at them as if all of them belongs to the lower class of our society.
We easily judge them based on their physical characteristics and ignore their
abilities. We only see the bad things in them and most of the time we do not give
them the respect they deserved. Every word in this song is appropriate to the
situations involving gays. It motivates the gays to ignore what the society thinks
about them instead do their best to break the bad stereotypes to and establish a
good one. But generally, this song does not only motivates the gays, but the people
who wants to do things that would make them happy despite all the hindrances
which are on their way.
