    Kanhaiya, a 26-year-old male, was referred by Dr. V Vergiya for a CT scan of the head on November 1, 2016. The CT scan found no abnormalities in the infratentorial or supratentorial regions of the brain. It also found no fractures of the bony architecture. However, soft tissue swelling was seen around the left orbit with air pockets. The conclusion was that no post-traumatic intracranial bleed was seen, but soft tissue swelling was present around the left orbit.

    CT STUDY OF HEAD

    Infratentorial

    Cerebellopontine angle and prepontine cisterns are seen normally.

    Fourth ventricle is normal in size and midline in location.

    Cerebellar parenchyma and brain stem appears to be normal.

    Supratentorial

    Both the cerebral hemisphere show normal gray and white matter
    differentiation.

    No subdural or extradural collection is seen.

    Basal cisterns are seen normally.

    Third and both lateral ventricles are seen normally.

    No midline shift is seen.

    BONY ARCHITECTURE :

    No fracture is seen .
    Soft tissue swelling is seen around left orbit with air pockets.

    OPINION:

    NO POST TRAUMATIC INTRACRANIAL BLEED IS SEEN.


    SOFT TISSUE SWELLING AROUND LEFT ORBIT WITH AIR POCKETS.

    Clinical correlation is necessary.
