Three days to the next round of qualifiers for the 2017 Africa Cup
of Nations (AFCON) football tournament, the Super Eagles of
Nigeria will on Tuesday arrive in Kaduna, venue of the match
between Nigeria and Egypt.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) sources say all necessary
arrangements have been made for the team to have a
comfortable stay and a successful game in Kaduna.
The team had a training session in Abuja on Tuesday morning,
prior to the three-hour journey to Kaduna by road. Of the 20
players currently in camp, 6 are home-based. Some of the players
from outside the country are John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Kelechi
Iheanacho, Odion Ighalo, Alex Iwobi and the teams captain,
Ahmed Musa.
The Nigeria-Egypt match comes up this weekend on Friday, 25
March, 2016. Egypt lead the group with 6 points while Nigeria are
second with 4 points. Other teams in the group are Chad and
Tanzania. Only the team with the highest number of points
qualifies automatically for the tournament in 2017.
Both Nigeria and Egypt failed to qualify for the last tourney held in
Equatorial Guinea in 2015, and won by Cote dIvoire.
