Presidents Message
Dear Lambda Sisters,
Whew!! Time is passing so quickly; I cant believe it is almost November! Of course the 85 degree
weather doesnt help. Octobers Founders Day meeting was very special. After a short reading of the
Founders Day history by June, a devotional book, A Prayer Guide for Our Nation, was presented to our
Silver and Sapphire Sisters. Thank you Silver Sisters Sue Bryan, Anita Hamm, Lisa Robertson, Carolyn
Whitley, and Linda Zinn and Sapphire Sisters Cheryl Cotton, Karen Crockett, and Paula Sharp for you
continued service. We also celebrated the memory of Golden Sister Estelle Robertson. Refreshments of
chicken salad, fruit, crackers and dessert were provided by our hostesses Juanita Cox, Karen Crockett,
Debora Webb, and June Reaves. June also did a great job decorating for our Founders Day meeting.
Our October Altruism Project for Breast Cancer Awareness was very successful. Marti Warren
was not able to be at the meeting; however, a donation of $210 was collected to help supply The Pink
Boutique. We received a note of Thanks from Marti.
I have spoken to Sandy Frazier about the website for our group, and she referred me to Linda
Terry. I have emailed her and am awaiting a response as to whether or not we will be able to do a Weebly
website and what can be put on it.
The November meeting is sure to be great! We will have special guest, Georgia McCain, District
President Elect, joining us to lead us through our program: Quilting with Georgia! Our Altruistic Project is
providing items for the Veterans Home (thank you Cheryl for the list). Items they are in need of are as
follows: coloring books, word searches, puzzle books, socks, white t-shirts, body washes, radios, snacks,
simple board games (Connect 4, Jenga, no chess or checkers please). I love providing for our Veterans!
