marketing options. Some of these new opportunities are being tested, such as Facebook Canvas
advertisements.

I want to congratulate everyone who worked on last
years staff for winning a Pacemaker Award for our print
your hard work and excellence in writing, design,
photography, advertising and editing and chose you
among the 20 winners. Your efforts made you stand
out among the 150 entries. Thank you for bringing
recognition and acclaim to our student media program.
On behalf of the entire professional staff, I want to say
we are very proud of you and your accomplishments.

October was a strong month for our Features Editor,


Brianne Twiddy. Not only did she maintain a consistent
presence on social media with her content, but orchestrated the Oct. 20 themed edition on CMUs LGBTQ+
community. Next month, with the help of her reporters,
Brianne will be an integral part of CM Lifes special Harry
Potter themed edition that is slated to hit newsstands

Morgan Nicholoson was


a devoted CM Lifer from
2009-2011 as an Advertising
Account Executive. Morgan
is now a marketing manager
at Live Nation, working
on Country Nation festivals including Faster Horses and
concerts across the United States.
Q: How did working at CM Life help you be career
prepared?
A: The interface of clients helped build my negotiating
skills. I also learned how to construct appropriate

more approachable and learned how to email executives.


Q: What advice do you have for current CM Lifers?
A: Focus in on current digital trends. Know about digital
realm, know how to communicate with people younger
than you. Always stay up-to-date.

Alumni Spotlight

Meet Joe DeClark, a


copywriter for CM Life. He was interested
in this position to gain experience in a fun,
creative environment. So far, Joe likes how his
ideas can be seen by everyone who reads the
newspaper. Looking forward to learning how
to write persuasive copy for advertisements,
creative director.
