Executive Summary
I have a love for working with youth in an outdoor setting and developing their
leadership qualities. I have a unique ability to work with youth with special needs,
assisting them in mainstreaming into the broader camp program. This experience can
change their lives.
Objective
To work and eventually lead an outdoor youth camp on a full-time year-round basis.

Work Experience
Outpost Counselor, Pretty Lake Vacation Camp, Mattawan Michigan, 2016.
Worked with middle school aged campers, leading them through daily camp
activities such as swimming, as well as leading them through adventure based
activities like low/high ropes and team building initiatives.
Was also responsible for leading the Ambassadors which involved making the
transition from camper to counselor through volunteering in the community and
growing as role models in a camp setting.
Resident Camp Counselor, YMCA Storer Camps, Jackson, Michigan, 2015.
Lead groups of campers through a high ropes challenge course while teaching
them team work and problem solving skills and also facilitated a Rock Wall
Tower so the campers could learn entry level climbing skills.
Was responsible for a cabin of 10 to 14 boys of ages 12 through 17 and provided
them with leadership so that they may have a memorable camp experience and
enjoy and learn through all of the camps great activities.
Inclusion Camp Counselor, Sherman Lake YMCA Summer Camp, Augusta, Michigan,

Lead groups of students that had special needs and worked with them individually
in an effort to include them in the camp program and into their age group
activities.
Evaluated the backgrounds of individual campers with special needs to develop
plans for inclusion.

Filled the shelves of the Produce section of the store with fresh fruits and
vegetables.
