The Effect of the Growth of Telecommuting in Society

Topic: Telecommuting refers to workers doing their jobs from home for
part of each week and communicating with their office using
computer technology. Telecommuting is growing in many countries
and is expected to be common for most office workers in the
coming decades.
Paraphrasing: (1) For the upcoming years, number of workers officially in
the world hope to use telecommuting to reach their working
purposes. (2) Telecommuting define as a homely job using
technology

as

the

machine

communicators.

The

expectedly telecommuting growth will be result in changing

family

life,

decreasing

human

social

interactions

and

changing corporate structure.

Elaboration 1st by Mum Widi : The obvious implication of applying
telecommuting in a work force is the decreasing social
interaction among workers even to officers management.
Unlike a usual working atmosphere, this model of work will
automatically result in declining a social atmosphere in the
sense that it is very seldom for personnel to have daily
greetings which in turn (consequently) may result in
lessening moral values. To make matter worse, staffs
loyalty may also be questioned with the use of this work
model.

there will also a broad implication of telecommuting on
family life. Having the extra time to stay at home, a bread
winner, usually a father, may find telecommuting a
blessing. He may be able to play with his children, pick
him up after school and be with his children studying, the
things normal working hours will never provide.

interaction and changing the familys life, but it is also
changing corporate structure. (11) It is such a common
thing that the city center and nearby areas will be lack of
activities result from illustrating on the fewer car along
the road; indeed, they can sit down on the desk homely to
do their jobs. (12) To make it worse, the central business
district will be relocated to another area because of
telecommuting growth.
Conclusion: (13) Therefore, telecommuting conducts the transformations
of the way we work and the way we get along with the
communities.
