and therefore will also be used
in my own piece in order to
introduce the main character
as well as allow the audience
to create their first perception
of the character. A medium
close up allows them to give a
good idea of the character as
we can see their face clearly,
their attitude and body
language.

this technique is often used
when a character is suffering
psychologically as it breaks
the barrier between the
character and the audience. I
will be using this technique in
order for the audience to
sympathise with the
protagonist and connect with
her.
In the frame we see the girl
sat at her desk as she is
writing in her diary, giving the
audience different
perspectives of the situation.
The shot will be at a slightly
high angle, showing a glimpse
of the girls vulnerability.
