Martyriai
Martyriai are abbreviations that are inscribed at the beginning, the middle and the end of every musical
composition. They convey the following two peices of information:
1) The starting, middle and ending notes of every musical piece.
2) The genus of the tetracord or scale they belong to.
Diatonic tetrachords used by the atural scales of PA and NI have the following Martyriai (see Table 3).
