Here's what we're learning this week:

Reading: We will continue with questioning and using evidence from the text to
answer our questions.
Phonics: We will be working on something called syllabication. This is the
process of breaking down large and unknown words into easy to read syllable
chunks. We will also be introducing beginning r blends.
Writing: This week we will be working on developing how-to idea lists for things
that students know how to do, make, or play.
Math: We will be working on solving for unknown partners using story problems.
This is tricky for kids and we will take our time to ensure everyone is
understanding the concept.
Social Studies/Science: We will be finishing up our unit on Family and discussing
how the past and present are different after conference week.
Other news:
Star of the Day: This round of star of the day, students may bring in
their favorite book from home to have in their book box for the day.
They will be able to use this book for read to someone which is a special
treat
Conferences:
o Monday, Nov. 7 from 4-7.
o Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 2-5. (HALF DAY)
o Thursday, Nov. 10 from 2-8. (HALF DAY)
No School: We have no school on Friday, November 11.
