Thesis: Individuals are able to evoke sufficient change to reach humanitys ultimate
goal of enriching societies and making the world a better place. This ambition can be
achieved through the transcendental human aspirations which promote a harmonious
world, while consequently provoking emotional responses from audiences.
Texts:
Such ideas are explored by J.K. Rowling through her commencement speech at
Harvard University, The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Power of Imagination
specifically in terms of her aspiration to achieve an equal world through the
abolishment of unequal privilege. Through her exploration of these ideas, it can be
seen how she endorses the importance of raising awareness to achieve the goal of
equality and justice.
Likewise, Barack Obamas aspirations for peace, security and prosperity in the
Middle East, as evident in his Remarks to the people of Israel, is coupled with his
ability to galvanise his audience into evoking and instigating change for a harmonious
society.
