Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present an overview of the distribution
system and its applications in power systems. The success of
distribution system depends on the ability to utilize the sources
available in power electronics. The more we utilize the more is
produced. Latest technology trends in distributed generation. Various
models in distribution generation. Types of distribution generation.
Study of generation, techniques to implement distribution generation,
analysis of distribution, protection techniques, requirements to apply
the DG to distributed systems, applications of distributed generation.
Loading, regulation, relaying techniques, online tap changers,
efficiency and loses calculation.
Grounding techniques, interconnection of DG, analysis of critical
loading methods. Islanding techniques, cost minimisation techniques,
economics of distribution generation.
Applications of distribution generation, proper utilisation, and
protection and cost minimisation in distributed generation.
