John Roger Stephens, better known by his stage name John Legend, is an

American singer, songwriter, musician and actor. He has won ten Grammy Awards,
one Golden Globe, and one Academy Award.
John Legend was born on December 28, 1978. He is one of four children of Phyllis
Elaine (ne Lloyd), a seamstress, and Ronald Lamar Stephens, a factory worker and
former National Guardsman.[4][5][6][7] Throughout his childhood, Legend was
homeschooled on and off by his mother.[8] At the age of four, he performed with his
church choir. He began playing the piano at age seven.
Legend released his debut album, Get Lifted, on GOOD Music in December 2004. In
October 2006, Legend's second album, Once Again, was released. In October 2008,
he released his third studio album, Evolver. He released his fourth studio album,
Love in the Future, on September 3, 2013.
After four years of dating, Legend became engaged to model Chrissy Teigen in
December 2011.[51][52] They married on September 14, 2013, in Como, Italy.[53] On
October 12, 2015, the couple announced they are expecting their first child, a girl.
