Pakistan has many underutilized natural resources that could help boost its economic growth and development, but it is currently too reliant on imports and foreign loans. Some of Pakistan's key resources include large reserves of coal, natural gas, minerals, forests, fertile land, and waterfalls. However, due to a lack of modern technology and infrastructure like dams, Pakistan has not been able to produce enough finished goods and generate sufficient electricity from its water resources to be self-sufficient. If Pakistan makes better use of its natural resources, it could reduce its large trade deficit, dependence on imports, and debt burden from foreign loans to invest more in the country's development.

SOBIA IRSHAD UNIVERSITY OF KARACHI I Want to drag the attention through my letter towards the major problem in the way of economic growth in Pakistan. Economic growth is the reality of human activity. Social, Cultural, Political sustainability depends on economic development. But why Pakistan is not a Developed country? Since independence Pakistan is an agricultural country we have masses of raw material, but due to lack of modern technologies we are unable to produce finished goods in our country on the other hand Pakistan has a big problem of unequalized balance of payments and trade deficit. According to the current Pakistan economic survey report the import target was set at $43.2billion (an increase of 6 PC) and export declined by 9.5 PC.the overall trade deficit posted an increase of 2.1 percent during FY2016. Even Pakistan blessed with a lot of resources like In Punjab and Balochistan there are approximately 175 trillion tons reserves of coals, natural gases minerals like gold and copper, Forest , Fertile land and waterfalls also are the big resources. But in Pakistan we are just depending on imports so most of the part of the GDP spends in import bill and for the use of other expenditures in the nation. Government takes loans from the IMF and other financial institutions. That loans continuously creating a burden to the economy. All waterfalls mix into the sea because of lack of Dams if we have sufficient Dams to store that precious water we can use that water in making Electricity.Tourism is also being affected due to security reasons in Pakistan. If we fully use our own God gifted resources not only we will be able to get rid from that loans also we can serve that revenue in the development of the country.
