Sir Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul, was born on 17 August 1932.

He is a famous
winner of a Nobel Prize for his Great Classical Novels. He was born in Port of Spain,
Trinidad but later he moved to Great Britain where he spent most of his adulthood.

In The year 1952 Naipaul was really depressed and unsure of his writing abilities, at
the Oxford in Britain. He then had a nervous Breakdown and took an impulsive trip
to Spain. On his trip to Spain he met his future wife Patricia Ann Hale, at a play. Now
with Hale with him he had motivation and support, so he wasnt so depressed so
little by little he began to write again and in 1953 he along with Hale graduated
Oxford. Naipaul was knighted in 1989.

In 1955 Sir Naipaul was married to Patricia Ann Hale, they were married until 1996
when Patricia died. Patricia herself had a role to play in his life not only as to being
his wife but she was also his first reader, editor, and critic of his writings. After her
death Naipaul got remarried to a Pakistani Nadira Naipaul who was a former
journalist.

It is said that Naipaul describes how his father's reverence for writers and for the
writing life spawned his own dreams and aspirations to become a writer.

award for the Nobel Prize in Literature, Man Booker Prize and the
Jerusalem Prize for the Freedom of the Individual in Society.
Sir V.S Naipaul is known to be a
famous writer, he is the author
of such great books as : Miguel Street ,The Suffrage of Elvira , A
House for Mr Biswas ,The Mimic Men ,A Bend in the River etc. He
also wrote a book by the name of n a Free State , this book is the
book that got him his Booker Prize Award.
