Karina Lopez Explains Scandalous Firing

Karina Lopez has been under fire ever since it was revealed that she fired her top worker, Alma
Pereda, for having an abortion 10 years ago- or so the claims say. When asked if the degrading
claims were correct, Lopez replied that the story was completely twisted up. She stated, I fired
Alma because of her health. According to Lopez, she worried for Peredas physical and mental
health, and rightfully so. An abortion is not an easy decision, but Pereda states that there was
no other choice. My doctor told me around three months into the pregnancy that lab tests
showed that my child would have been born with severe fibromyalgia and wouldve died 3-4
days after birth! I was in shock. She then mentions that she decided to quit to process it all, but
Lopez offered to fire her so she would be compensated. At the end of the interview, Pereda was
sure to mention that because of my experience, I completely support Planned Parenthood for
their help.
This explanation by Lopez and confirmation by Pereda discredits any false claims used by
Republicans to paint Lopez in a bad light. It in no way compares to recent scandalous
revelations of Republican candidate Jenna Davis seemingly supporting pro-choice Democrat
Julian Garcia. The truth is that Lopez is a kind-hearted woman whose campaign slogan greatly
endorses peace and tolerance, and who was only thinking of Peredas well-being the day she
fired her.
