    William Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, England to parents Mary Arden and John Shakespeare. He married Anne Hathaway at age 18 and had three children, though his son Hamnet died in 1596. Between 1592-1611 Shakespeare lived in London and worked as a playwright and actor with the Lord Chamberlain's Men theatre company, later called the King's Men. He wrote 37 plays, 2 poems, and over 150 sonnets before dying in Stratford in 1616 at age 52.

    Shakespeare and Anne had three children

    only granddaughter Elizabeth daughter of
    Susanna died childless in 1670.

    Monument in Church of the Holy Trinity in
    Stratford.
    Left a will for daughter and wife
    Didn't publicly publish any of his plays, but
    his 2 friends - Henry Condell and John
    Heminges published his plays.
