day UGC sponsored National Seminar on Food safety and
Quality Assurance-A comprehensive perpetual perspective
on the 11th & 12thAugust 2016 in collaboration with Indian
Medical Association. On behalf of the organizing committee

your cooperation and participation.
About the seminar
People will experience a food or water borne disease
at some point in their lives. This highlights the importance of
making sure the food we eat is not contaminated with
potentially harmful bacteria, parasites, viruses, toxins and
chemicals. Over the past half century, the process by which
food gets from the farm to the plate has changed drastically.
Everyone along the production chain, from producer to
consumer, must observe safe food handling practices.
Therefore it is important to lay down adequate standards for
food based industries in manufacture, storage, distribution,
sale and import and to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption.
This seminar focuses on the importance of food
safety and the importance of assuring quality of food products through stages of production and processing. Technical
sessions on HACCP an approach to food safety, Food safety
and quality assurance- Challenges, Product Development and
Testing techniques, Effect of pesticides and need for organic
farming, street foods Role in life style diseases are included.
