Its less than a week since Brendans last appearance but Im certainly not complaining!
A puzzle right up my street, based on one of my favourite Shakespeare plays, the 5,24 that superstition says
cant be named in the theatre [and isnt named here, except familiarly at 6dn]. I did it for O Level and still
remember a surprising amount of it, which was useful at 16dn. There are allusions to the plot of the play in
many of the cleverly-written surfaces and the three weird sisters can be found in the grid.
The whole is beautifully clued, as always a real work of art, I think. I enjoyed every minute of it many
thanks, Brendan.

Down
Perhaps a bit hard for those not familiar with the text but its a quite well known passage, I think
Unless you have been hiding away in some CATACOMBS [25 across] for months, nay years, you will be aware
that the American Presidential election is taking place today. Alchemi is certainly aware of it and has packed a
lot of relevant material into rows 5, 7,9 and 11 of the grid. With a bit of lateral thinking one or two of the other
entries could be considered relevant as well.
There is one entry that I cant parse completely. I get the upturned barrel bit of TWIN-TUB at 20 down but I
dont get the very little water a component bit. I look forward be told what I am missing.
Once the theme became apparent, the thematic clues fell very quickly.
You got your moneys worth today with 34 grid entries from 33 clues.
I liked the clue for CATACOMBS with its container and contents within an additional outer container.
