Birth Weight in RSUD Ciawi at Year 2014

ABSTRACT
Maternal nutritional status means the state as a result of food consumption
and using of nutrients during pregnancy. The best assessment to assess the
nutritional status of pregnancy is the measurement of Upper Arm Circumference
(MUAC), because at pregnancy with malnutrition (less or more nutients)
sometimes it shows edema but it struck on the upper arm rarely. The aim of
MUAC is to determine a person suffers from chronic energy deficiency (CED) or
not. Mothers with risk of CED is expected to give birth by low birth weight
infants (<2500 g).
The problems of this research can be formulated as "Is there any
relationship CED in pregnancy with LBW at RSUD Ciawi at year 2014?"
The purpose of this study is to determine about the relationship between
Chronic Energy Deficiency in pregnancy with LBW. The method of this research
is a descriptive quantitative research by using secondary data that conducted
through cross-sectional approach, the data collection was conducted in April 2015
with population of pregnant women as many as 2208 people with a sample of 96
respondents.
Based on the results of the 96 respondents that the data are most pregnant
women who do not experience CED as many as 71 (74%) and the baby with low
birth weight as much as 52 (54.2%).
The efforts to minimize the incidence of Chronic Energy Deficiency is
hold class of pregnant women with counseling one of them is doing ANC
appropriate nutrition during pregnancy.
