FILAFLEX

Was developed to operate in applications to withstand continuous temperature as high as 1400 F (760C) without flexing or abrasion. It is being
used to replace asbestos, or where standard fiberglass will not stand up.

SURVEY WIRE

Was developed specifically to meet the demands inherent in the performance of oven surveys. Will withstand continous temperatures as high as
1400F. it has been used up to 2000F (1093C) for short periods.

SILIFLEX

Will withstand temperatures as high as 1600F (871C). It is used under conditions where beaded ceramic or sheathed thermocouple previously
were necessary. It has been used up to 2325F (1274C) for short periods.

CERAMAFLEX

Developed to withstand temperatures to 2200F (1204C). It is used under conditions where beaded ceramic or sheathed thermocouples previously
were necessary. It has been used up to 2600F (1427C) for short periods

CALIBRATION AND CERTIFICATION

All insulated and bare thermocouple and extension wire is selected to meet standard initial calibration tolerances for temperatures above 32F (0C) as given in ANSI MC.96.1 and as shown below.
However, these limits does not include system or installation error.
Wire conforming to special limits calibration tolerance, or for below 32F (0C), and wire with certified
traceable calibrations, is available on request, at an extra charge.

Calibration Type Characteristics

Type J (Iron vs Constantan) is used in vacuum, oxidizing, inert or reducing atmospheres. Iron element oxidizes rapidly at temperatures exceeding 1000F (538C), and therefore heavier gauge wire is recommended
for longer life at these temperatures.
Type K (CHROMEL vs ALUMEL) is used in oxidizing, inert or dry reducing atmospheres. Exposure to
vacuum limited to short time periods. Must be protected from sulfurous and marginally oxidizing atmospheres. Reliable and accurate at high temperatures.
Type T (Copper vs Constantan) is used or service in oxidizing, inert or reducing atmospheres or in a vacuum. It is highly resistant to corrosion from atmospheric moisture and condensation and exhibits high stability at low temperatures. It is only type with limits or error guaranteed for cryogenic temperatures.
Type E (CHROMEL vs Constantan) may be used in oxidizing, inert or dry reducing atmospheres, or for
short periods f time under vacuum. Must be protected from sulfurous and marginally oxidizing atmospheres.
Produces the highest EMF per degree of any standardized thermocouple.
Type N (Nicrosil vs Nisil) is used in oxidizing, inert or dry reducing atmospheres. Must be protected from
sulfurous atmospheres. Very reliable and accurate at high temperatures.
