Strategies Planned
In the first discovery science lesson, students were able to see how the Law of
Conservation of Mass works in real world examples. They were also able to try this out on
their own using balances and experimenting with different objects.
In the second discovery science lesson, students were able to collect their own data
through computer use, actively engaging in their own research
In the math lesson, students were able to actively measure things in the classroom and
in their groups in order to make conversions.

In the first guided science lesson, math lesson, and second science lesson, students were
able to work in groups in order to foster communication.
In the writing and second science lesson, students were able to see and express how
buying and consuming local fruits and veggies help the world around us.
In the reading lesson, students were able to learn about a kid genius, figuring out about his
life.
In the reading lesson, students were able to discuss their opinions and questions within the
guided reading groups.
Multiple Intelligences fostered
Musical/Rhythmic In all of the lessons, teacher used ukulele for management; in the
first science lesson, the closure included a song that the students learned to remember The
Law of Conservation of Mass.
Interpersonal In four of the five lessons, students were able to work in cooperative
groups.

Strategies Planned
In the guided reading lesson, the introduction includes a description of how all the
lessons are able to connect through the big idea.
Students were able to use problem solving the math and both science lessons when they
have to make hypothesis and come up with definitions for important vocabulary on their
own.
Students are able in the first science lesson to work on their own in independent
practice.
Students are able to work independently in the math lesson in order to measure on their
assessment sheet.

Intrapersonal Writing down personal expressions in a persuasive letter in the writing
lesson
Verbal/Linguistic Talking with peers in four of the five lessons within the groups;
closure in the math lesson includes a verbal vocaroo

Students are able to self-express when writing their opinion in the writing lesson.
Discovery learning takes place in both science lessons and the math lesson; students
discover vocabulary and concepts
Students create hypothesis in the both of the science lessons.
Students are able to draw creatively for both the guided reading and the first science
lesson.
Multiple Intelligences fostered
Logical/Mathematical The students create multiple hypotheses and conduct
experiments within three of the four lessons (science and math).
Visual/Spatial The students draw illustrations of the balance in the science lesson.
Naturalist The students discuss the harms of not buying local fruits and veggies in
the writing and second science lesson.
