This document discusses converting a Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) train to run on a dual fuel system of compressed natural gas (CNG) and high-speed diesel (HSD). A DEMU train was successfully converted to operate on a mixture of CNG and diesel, reducing pollution. The CNG is induced into the KTA50 L engine using fumigation technology. A conversion kit was installed consisting of a CNG storage cascade, gas train, mixers, and electronic governing system to allow the engine to run on both CNG and diesel, achieving a 25% substitution of diesel.

CNG USED FIRST TIME FOR RLY. TRACTION. DPC has been converted to dual fuel mode i.e. it operates on mixture of CNG & Diesel.
